German authorities are scrambling to unravel the mystery of one of the more deadly e. coli outbreaks we've seen in recent history. The outbreak has already killed 22 and hospitalized 2,200. First it was thought to be caused by organic cucumbers in Spain and the resulting repercussions on an already suffering economy have been dramatic. The crisis is costing Spain's ailing economy 200,000 million euros per week and it could put 70,000 out of work. But people are still getting sick, very sick.
