Freud, Anna (1895–1982), an Austrian-born British psychoanalyst. She was an authority on the teachings of her father, Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, and she also made important contributions to child psychology. Freud was born in Vienna, Austria, and emigrated in 1938 with her father to England. She founded the Hampstead Child Therapy Clinic in London.
